The area of the “Spreestudios” in Rummelsburg (district Lichtenberg) is the fulfillment of a dream of the Kunstfreunde to realize a project directly at the Spree. In the 1920s the area, which extends over 22.000m², was a crowd puller. The public swimming bath Lichtenberg, visited by up to 17.000 people daily, were located here. From the 1950s to the beginning of the 1990s the customs authority of the GDR was based here.
During the years of disuse nature regained the area and the former swimming bath turned into an enchanted piece of land. Two historical buildings remain from this time, the former restaurant and the house of the bath attendant. One of the three swimming pools now serves as a private port with an adjacent waterfront of 200 meters. Furthermore, there are halls of various dimensions between 50 and 900 m² available as well as a former office building with 1500 m² of floor space. Altogether, the area has about 5.000 m² of indoor floor space.
The facilities and atmosphere of the area provide ideal conditions and almost unlimited opportunities as a film and photo location. The area also has a private marina and port and is located at the widest part of the Spree with a perfect south west orientation. From the large open area your view will reach over the Spree to the “Insel der Jugend” all the way to the Spreepark on the opposite side.

Mit dem Gelände der „Spreestudios“ im Ortsteil Rummelsburg (Bezirk Lichtenberg) erfüllt sich ein Traum der Kunstfreunde, ein Projekt direkt an der Spree zu verwirklichen. Das über 22.000 m² große Areal war in den 20er Jahren ein Publikumsmagnet. Hier befand sich die städtische Flussbadeanstalt Lichtenberg mit bis zu 17.000 Besuchern täglich. Seit den 50er Jahren bis Anfang der 90er Jahre war hier die Zollverwaltung der DDR angesiedelt.
In den Jahren der Nichtnutzung holte sich die Natur das Areal zurück und aus dem ehemaligen Freibad wurde ein verwunschenes Naturgrundstück. Aus der Zeit der Flussbadeanstalt sind zwei historische Gebäude erhalten, das ehemalige Restaurant sowie das Badewärterhaus. Eines von drei Schwimmbecken dient jetzt als Privathafen mit einer angrenzenden Wasserfront über 200 Metern. Darüber hinaus stehen Hallen in unterschiedlichen Größen zwischen 50 und 900 m² sowie ein ehemaliges Bürogebäude mit ca. 1500 m² Nutzfläche zur Verfügung. Insgesamt umfasst das Gelände ca. 5.000 m² Gebäudenutzfläche.
Von der Ausstattung und Atmosphäre bietet das Areal ideale Bedingungen und fast unbegrenzte Möglichkeiten als Film- und Fotolocation. Das Gelände verfügt außerdem über eine eigene Marina und Privathafen und liegt an der breitesten Stelle der Spree mit perfekter Süd-West Ausrichtung. Von der großen Freifläche reicht der Blick über die Spree zur “Insel der Jugend” bis zum gegenübergelegenen “Spreepark”.
